Last week's fall festival was great and I want to thank each one of you for making it so successful.  I appreciate the support and participation of every student at Ac2E Middle School.  This week is the final week of the six weeks, so you know what that means - 6 weeks exams.  I would like to remind you that all missing assignments must be turned in by this week or you will receive a zero on them.  Make sure that you study and complete the extra credit review online at http://riogrande.agilemind.com.  Here is the schedule for the week:

Honors Math 8:
Monday - Review for 6 Weeks Exam
Tuesday -  6 Weeks Exam
Wednesday - Connecting Rate of Change and slope
Thursday - Slope and y-intercept
Friday -  Slope and y-intercept

Algebra 1
Monday - Graphing line of best fit using technology
Tuesday - Transformations of linear equations
Wednesday -  Review for 6 Weeks Exam
Thursday - 6 Weeks Exam
Friday - Review solving equations

Week 2.4

Wow - making Barbie bungee jump was great!  We collected data on a small scale and used our linear model to make a prediction for how many rubber bands would be needed to drop Barbie 600 cm.  We saw that 55-57 was an appropriate number of rubber bands with out having to go through a guess and test method.  Hooray for linear models to make predictions!

We have a full week ahead - then next week you will be taking your second six weeks exams.  Please don't forget to correct any poor assessment grades and retest if necessary.  It is your responsibility to come in during lunch to take the retest.

This week's schedule:

Honors Math:
Monday: Bullying/Bus Safety Presentations
Tuesday: Writing Function Rules
Wednesday: Practice Modeling and Writing Functions
Thursday: Topic 7 Assessment
Friday: Fall Festival

Algebra 1:
Monday: Bullying/Bus Safety Presentations
Tuesday: Linear Models and lines of best fit
Wednesday: Lines of best fit and the function y=x
Thursday: Changes to the parent function y=x
Friday: Fall Festival

Have a great week Falcons!
