Congratulations to all students who participated in the Starr County Youth Fair.  It was great to see your projects and animals; I could tell that you put a lot of work into it!  I would like to remind all students that we have 16 school days until the 8th grade math STAAR and 17 days until the reading STAAR.  Keep working hard so you can demonstrate mastery on your exams!

Reminders:  Tutorials will resume this Saturday, March 4.   Make sure that you let me know if you will be unable to attend.

Week 5.1

Happy 5th 6 Weeks y'all!  We are officially in countdown mode - 21 days until 8th grade math STAAR and 43 days until the Algebra 1 EOC.  We are preparing diligently so we can demonstrate mastery in math and Algebra 1, so keep working hard - it WILL pay off!

Reminders:  I won't be staying for tutorials this week.  I will let you know if other teachers are staying.  Don't forget to bring $3 for the field trip this Friday.

Wow, what a great turn out at tutorials this past Saturday.  I am very proud of all the 8th graders that came and went over calculator strategies with me.  I know that we are going to get a lot of practice done before the STAAR and it will make a difference!

We are already at the third week of the six weeks, so you know what is coming up soon - progress reports!  Please make sure that you are completing assignments if you are absent so that your grade reflects what you truly know and is not reduced due to missing assignments.  Make sure that you also study and prepare for the 3rd week mini-assessments so that you can demonstrate mastery on the concepts you are learning in all your classes.
